Farinex was founded in 1984 by Lisette et Gérard O'Hayon in Laval.

This company started it's activity in a bakery located in Laval with only 5 employees.
During the past years, it developed itself to become the specialist in raw products for bakeries and pastries in eastern Canada. Farinex also covers restaurants, hotels and institutions sectors.

In 1996, after multiple expansions, Farinex established its offices at 3780 la Vérendrye in Boisbriand, with a surface of 30 000 square feet. At the same time it created 22 new jobs to increase its working force to 40 employees.

From 1997 to 1999, the Farinex Club ''vacations for a bite of bread'' was founded, allowing their customers to become members of the program Farinex Club and accumulate traveling points. These points are valid on the purchase of any product offered from the suppliers sponsors of the Farinex Club, to redeem them for a dream vacation…this is how over a hundred clients benefited from different trips.

In April 2001, following a demand from its customers, Farinex decided to market a new line of products imported from France, which permitted Farinex to re-enforce its existent product line and to create new jobs.

In October 2002, Farinex won various contests such as the Lucien Charlebois 2000 award for best distributor of the year, due to its excellent service and quality of products.

In May 2003, Farinex inaugurated the Farinex Institute, which is a formation center destined exclusively to Farinex clientele. The institute had several goals; to allow their clients to receive training, to increase the new product lines imported from Europe as well as to better their own product line.

Today Farinex has a warehouse of 105 000 square feet, with refrigerators, freezers and cold rooms all specially adapted to keep the quality of the products such as: chocolates, fruits, fats, etc.

Farinex counts on a team of more than 100 employees that are devoted to their work.

Even if the sales territory is based mostly in the region of Montreal, our products are also distributed across Quebec and Ontario. They are also sold by other distributors to better serve the demand.

Lisette and Gérard O’Hayon are reserving future projects because the success of Farinex has always been on the avant-garde, and they wish to make their clients happy for years to come.
